Shresht Kapur joins NDTV as regional head, north, Brand Studio
TV9 veteran of nearly four years jumps ship to take charge of branded content for NDTV out of Gurgaon
GURUGRAM: Shresht Kapur has swapped one newsroom’s commercial engine for another, stepping in as regional head, north, for NDTV’s brand studio. The move ends a near four-year run at TV9, where Kapur rose from manager to territory head, north, running content revenue across TV, digital and OTT, a brief that covered content sales, branded content, events, sponsorships, brand partnerships and IP sales.
Before TV9, Kapur cut his teeth at Reliance Broadcast Network, working his way up from management trainee to account manager and eventually business partner in corporate sales over two and a half years, the kind of grind that builds exactly the sales instincts a brand studio role now demands.
At NDTV, Kapur inherits the job of turning branded content into hard revenue across the northern market, an unglamorous but increasingly high-stakes corner of the broadcast business as advertisers keep chasing contextual, integrated formats over straightforward spots. Seven years since leaving campus as a trainee, Kapur now has a full region and a brand studio to build out. The real test starts now.
