Schindler India appoints Ashok Ramachandran president of schindler india and south asia

MUMBAI: A leading global provider of escalators and elevators, Schindler India appoints Mr. Ashok Ramachandran the President of Schindler India and South Asia with effect from 1st July, 2019. Ashok Ramachandran joined the company in 2006 and has spent over a decade at the Company in various roles within the Schindler Group.

He started his career in Schindler at Australia in the Quality department, post which he was appointed as Managing Director of Schindler Vietnam in 2012. After a successful stint there where he achieved a complete turnaround of the business at Vietnam, he was assigned the role of Managing Director of Schindler Malaysia in 2016 and was then appointed the CEO at Schindler India in 2018. With his rich professional experience, he now takes charge as the President at Schindler India and South Asia.

Mr. Ramachandran takes over the responsibility from Mr. Uday Kulkarni who has taken retirement from the role after being associated with the company for over 11 years. Mr. Kulkarni would continue to be associated with Schindler India and would be responsible for the Schindler University, the training facility for developing future leaders in the industry.

As President, Mr Ashok Ramachandran will assume day-to-day leadership of the Company and will be responsible for the overall Sales, Marketing and Operations of the company and the factory which is the first MNC factory in India to have manufacturing of both elevators and escalators and also the R& D facility.

MUMBAI: Pocket FM has elevated Lalit Gangwar to chief operating officer, tasking the founding team member with leading global business operations as the company sharpens its international growth strategy.

In his new role, Gangwar will oversee end-to-end operations across markets, including growth, monetisation and execution for the company’s audio business. The appointment comes as Pocket FM looks to strengthen its operating foundation and build a more predictable, scalable global business.

Gangwar has been closely involved in shaping the company’s trajectory from its early days. He played a key role in building the growth and marketing playbook in India, helping the platform scale to over 150 million users within its first year and establish a strong foothold in the audio storytelling category.

He later led Pocket FM’s expansion into the United States, where he set up teams, defined market strategy and drove scale, contributing significantly to the company’s international ambitions.

Pocket FM co-founder and CEO Rohan Nayak said, “Lalit has been central to Pocket FM’s journey from the very beginning. He has built our growth engine and scaled our business across markets.” He added that the company’s focus on nurturing internal talent makes Gangwar a natural choice to lead the next phase.
