Ranveer Singh named Ray-Ban and Ray-Ban Meta brand ambassador in India
Actor becomes brands’ first India ambassador as Ray-Ban expands its AI glasses story
MUMBAI: Ranveer Singh is putting a new frame around his already colourful style story. The actor has been named the first-ever brand ambassador in India for Ray-Ban and Ray-Ban Meta, marking a new chapter for the eyewear brand as it combines its fashion heritage with Meta’s AI-powered glasses technology.
The partnership brings together two parts of the brand’s proposition: Ray-Ban’s long association with individuality and self-expression, and Ray-Ban Meta’s push to make AI glasses part of everyday life. Singh will represent both brands in India, bringing his distinctive style and creative persona into their evolving local campaign.
Singh has also had a longstanding relationship with Meta, having collaborated with the technology company on multiple occasions. His appointment therefore extends an existing association while giving Ray-Ban a prominent cultural face for its India business.
Known for his transformative film performances and highly individual approach to fashion, Singh has built a public persona around experimentation and reinvention. That positioning forms the centre of the new partnership, with Ray-Ban using the actor’s ability to move between different styles and identities as part of its broader message around individuality.
The collaboration is particularly focused on Ray-Ban Meta, the company’s range of connected glasses. The products combine the familiar Ray-Ban design language with technology that allows users to listen to music and podcasts, make hands-free calls and access Meta AI without having to reach for their phones.
The glasses are also being developed as an increasingly capable technology platform rather than a static hardware product. Regular software updates, new AI features and an expanding ecosystem of applications and experiences are designed to add functionality over time.
Among the use cases highlighted by the brands are everyday activities such as building healthy habits, managing a busy calendar and getting assistance while on the move. The proposition is therefore positioned at the intersection of eyewear, fashion and hands-free technology.
For Ray-Ban, Singh’s appointment also places its heritage-led products alongside a newer category of AI-enabled eyewear. The brand has traditionally built its identity around iconic styles and cultural expression, while Ray-Ban Meta adds cameras, audio and AI capabilities to that familiar format.
Singh said Ray-Ban’s association with individuality was something he had connected with for years. He added that his approach to style was driven by instinct, mood and the freedom to express different sides of himself, making the combination of Ray-Ban’s designs and Meta’s technology a natural fit for the partnership.
The association will be rolled out through a new campaign featuring Singh across both Ray-Ban and Ray-Ban Meta. The campaign moves between cinematic visuals and contemporary silhouettes, using different looks to reflect the actor’s expressive style and his reputation for reinvention.
The creative work brings together classic Ray-Ban frames and the newer Ray-Ban Meta range, positioning each as part of the same broader conversation around personal expression. The campaign is built around the idea of using style and technology as extensions of individual identity rather than treating them as separate worlds.
The partnership comes as AI-enabled wearables increasingly move from experimental technology towards consumer products designed for everyday use. By pairing a familiar eyewear brand with AI features, Ray-Ban Meta is attempting to make functions such as digital assistance, communication and entertainment available without requiring users to constantly look down at a smartphone.
For Singh, the association adds another technology and fashion collaboration to his portfolio while putting him at the centre of Ray-Ban’s India narrative. For the brand, his appointment gives its traditional eyewear business and its newer AI glasses proposition a shared cultural face.
The campaign’s central message, “Frame Your True Self”, ties the two sides together, Ray-Ban’s history of self-expression and Ray-Ban Meta’s attempt to introduce a new layer of technology into everyday eyewear. With Singh as its first India ambassador, the brand is using that intersection to frame its next phase in the market.
