MUMBAI: Protein Pantry has raised Rs 9 crore in a seed funding round led by Sharrp Ventures as the high-protein frozen food brand looks to expand manufacturing, product development and distribution across India.

The round also saw participation from Peercheque, Consumer Collective by Atrium and Indian Silicon Valley Capital, along with angel investors including Varun Alagh of Honasa Consumer, Rishubh Satiya of Plix, Avnish Anand of CaratLane, Arush Chopra of Just Herbs and Saurabh Munjal of Lahori Zeera. Signal Ventures and other investors also participated.

Protein Pantry said the bulk of the fresh capital will go towards setting up and scaling its manufacturing unit, with additional investments planned in research and development and the supply chain. The remaining funds will support marketing and working capital.

Founded around the idea of bringing protein into everyday Indian meals, the company offers vegetarian frozen foods including soya chaap, kebabs, cutlets and falafels. Its products are baked rather than fried and are made without refined flour, preservatives or palm oil. The company produces its marinades, sauces and chaap base in-house.

“We started Protein Pantry to move protein beyond the supplements aisle and into everyday Indian meals,” said Protein Pantry co-founder Disha Bhattacharya. She added that owning manufacturing end-to-end gives the company greater control over recipes, nutritional profiles and pricing.

Since launching in November 2025, Protein Pantry has expanded its direct-to-consumer presence across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Jaipur. Its products are also available through quick-commerce platforms including Blinkit, FirstClub and Flipkart Minutes across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

The company said it has served more than 30,000 households and plans to enter Pune, Kolkata, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Chennai through quick commerce by the end of 2026.

Sharrp Ventures principal Divya Gupta said the firm sees an opportunity at the intersection of nutrition, convenience and taste, pointing to rising protein awareness, quick-commerce adoption and improvements in cold-chain infrastructure.

Over the next 12 to 24 months, Protein Pantry plans to expand into all major Indian cities through D2C and quick commerce while adding more ready-to-cook formats to its protein-focused range.
