MUMBAI: Pinterest has appointed former Amazon finance executive James Dibbo as its new chief financial officer, effective 26 October 2026.

Dibbo will report to Bill Ready and take charge of Pinterest’s global finance organisation, covering finance, accounting, financial planning and analysis, investor relations, treasury, tax, business and corporate development, internal audit and workplace.

He joins the visual discovery and shopping platform after a decade at Amazon, where he most recently served as vice president and chief financial officer for Global Entertainment, Advertising and Corporate Development.

At Amazon, Dibbo oversaw finance for a broad portfolio spanning Amazon Ads, Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios, Music, Audible and Twitch. He also worked on corporate development initiatives across the businesses.

Earlier in his Amazon career, Dibbo served as CFO of Worldwide Consumer and CFO of North America Consumer. In those roles, he helped scale the company’s global operations, improve profitability and build teams and systems to support long-term growth.

Pinterest CEO Bill Ready said Dibbo brings operating discipline and strategic experience across consumer, shopping, advertising and technology businesses.

“James is an exceptional finance leader with the operating rigor, strategic range and growth mindset that will greatly benefit Pinterest in our next chapter,” said Pinterest chief executive officer Bill Ready.

Ready added that Dibbo’s experience running complex global businesses would make him a strong partner for Pinterest’s leadership team and board as the company seeks to make its platform more actionable for users and more valuable to advertisers.

Dibbo said Pinterest’s position at the intersection of visual search, shopping and advertising was a key attraction.

“Pinterest has a compelling opportunity to help people turn inspiration into action while delivering meaningful value for advertisers,” said Pinterest chief financial officer James Dibbo.

He added that he looked forward to working with Ready, the board and the wider Pinterest team to build on the company’s momentum and invest for future growth.

Before joining Amazon, Dibbo was CFO of P.F. Chang’s. His earlier finance leadership experience includes senior roles at Tesco and BT Group.

He began his finance career at PwC in London and holds a BS in Economics from Cardiff University. He is also a Chartered Accountant and fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Dibbo will succeed Julia Brau Donnelly, who will step down as Pinterest’s CFO on 26 October.

Donnelly will remain with Pinterest in an advisory capacity until 30 October to support the transition.

The appointment comes as Pinterest continues to build its business around visual discovery, shopping and advertising, with Dibbo’s experience across each of those areas giving him a closely aligned financial and commercial background for the role.
