Former MakeMyTrip and Naukri executive joins Paytm Travel to shape product growth

GURUGRAM: A new itinerary of leadership is being drawn up at Paytm Travel, with seasoned product executive Abhijeet Anand stepping into a key role just as the travel-tech sector gears up for its next phase of growth.

Abhijeet Anand has joined Paytm’s travel vertical, Paytm Travel, as vice president, product management. He announced the move in a LinkedIn post, marking the start of a new chapter after a long stint in media and travel platforms.

“Packed my bags and started a new journey with Paytm Travel,” said Paytm Travel vice president, product management Abhijeet Anand. He added that he is excited to build “products and experiences that make travel smarter, simpler, and more enjoyable,” while also expressing gratitude to Times Internet and the Indiatimes team for over five years of learning and growth.

Anand brings more than two decades of experience across product leadership roles in India’s digital ecosystem. At Times Internet, he most recently served as business head, overseeing product, technology, editorial, and revenue functions for Indiatimes. Prior to that, he led product functions for The Times of India business, focusing on audience growth and monetisation.

Before his media stint, he held senior leadership roles at MakeMyTrip, where he worked across Goibibo, redBus, and international expansion initiatives, including the GCC market. His earlier career includes key product roles at Naukri.com, where he contributed to recruitment platforms and monetisation products.

Anand is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, reflecting a strong academic foundation that has underpinned his product-led career journey.

With Paytm steadily expanding its travel offerings, his appointment signals a renewed focus on strengthening product innovation and user experience in a highly competitive market. As the travel sector continues to rebound and evolve, the move is seen as a strategic bet on seasoned leadership to sharpen the platform’s next phase of growth.
