Orchard advertising team to represent India at Adfest
MUMBAI: In a national contest organised by the AAAI for member agencies K M Ayappa and Mark Flory of the young creatives team of Orchard Advertising Bangalore, were today adjudged the winning team in the national creative initiative.
The AAAI invited entries on the theme of ‘AIDS Prevention’ and over 75 entries were received from 25 agencies. The panel of judges included Piyush Pandey, executive chairman & national creative director of Ogilvy & Mather, K V Sridhar, national creative director of Leo Burnett India.
This Orchard advertising team will now be flown to Pattaya by 7 March and will be the official Indian representatives at the prestigious Asia Pacific Young Creatives Workshop 2005 which will be held on 8-9 March 2005. They will also be guests of the AdFest, (Asia Pacific Advertising Festival) Asia’s premier creative awards function scheduled for 10-12 March .
Announcing the results Ramesh Narayan, convenor of the Jury said this was yet another initiative of the AAAI to foster and nurture young creative talent in the advertising industry.

Dish TV shareholders approve three independent directors
99.49 per cent vote of confidence strengthens board as company expands into connected TV, e-commerce and OTT.
MUMBAI: Dish TV has just been served a near-perfect vote of confidence and the shareholders have dished it out in style. Shareholders of the DTH operator have approved the appointment of three new Independent Directors with an overwhelming 99.49 per cent approval. The three appointees are Mr Arun Kumar Kapoor, Ms Heena Naishadh Bhatt and Mr Ashok Anant Paranjpe.
The strong mandate reflects continued investor faith in the company’s strategy, disciplined execution and long-term value creation. It comes as Dish TV focuses on stabilising its core DTH business while actively scaling new verticals connected TV platform VZY, B2B e-commerce ShopZop, and OTT service Watcho to build a more diversified and resilient growth trajectory.
