Mondelēz India appoints Vinay Subramanyam as vice president-marketing
Subramanyam succeeds Nitin Saini, who takes charge as general manager, Indonesia
MUMBAI: Mondelēz India is giving its marketing playbook a new hand, appointing Vinay Subramanyam as vice president-marketing as the snacking major looks to build on its next phase of growth.
Subramanyam succeeds Nitin Saini, who has been elevated to general manager, Indonesia, within Mondelēz International’s Southeast Asia operations.
The new marketing chief brings more than two decades of experience across consumer goods companies. He joins Mondelēz India from Kellanova, now part of Mars Snacking, where he served as head of marketing, South Asia, and was a member of the company’s AMEA Commercial Leadership Team.
At Kellanova, Subramanyam led brand-building initiatives, category expansion and strategic business growth across South Asia. His earlier stints include leadership roles at Pidilite Industries, Britannia Industries and VIP Industries.
Commenting on the appointment, Mondelēz India president Samir Jain said Subramanyam brings a strong track record in brand building, category growth, innovation and developing high-performing teams.
“As we scale our India business further, Vinay’s leadership and consumer-centric approach will be instrumental in accelerating our next phase of growth,” Jain said.
Subramanyam has also featured among India’s leading marketers, appearing on Business World’s Top 50 Marketers and Impact’s Top 100 Marketers lists.
He holds a master’s degree in management from MICA Ahmedabad and a graduate degree in business management from Bharathiar University.
With Subramanyam taking the marketing helm and Saini moving into a broader international leadership role, Mondelēz is reshuffling its leadership bench as it looks to keep its brands and categories moving forward.
