McDonald’s brings FIFA World Cup-themed meals to India
Limited-edition football collectibles join special FIFA meals from 19 June.
MUMBAI: Looks like football fever is getting a side of fries. As the FIFA World Cup 2026 kicks into gear, McDonald’s is hoping fans will swap match tickets for meal trays and score a collectible while they’re at it. McDonald’s India North & East has unveiled a FIFA World Cup 2026-themed meal range, introducing limited-edition football collectibles as part of its latest campaign tied to the global sporting spectacle.
The special FIFA Meal lineup will roll out across restaurants in North and East India from June 19, leveraging McDonald’s status as the Official Restaurant Partner of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The offering combines newly launched menu items with exclusive mini football collectibles, giving customers a chance to take home a piece of the tournament alongside their meal.
Leading the menu are the new McVeggie Dragon and McChicken Dragon burgers, both featuring a Chinese-style sauce, accompanied by Honey Chilli Fries and a beverage. The themed meal combinations will include a limited-edition football collectible for a restricted period.
Customers can choose from the McVeggie Dragon FIFA Value Meal with a mini football priced at Rs 209, the McChicken Dragon FIFA Value Meal at Rs 239, and the McVeggie Dragon FIFA Extra Value Meal with a collectible football at Rs 259.
The campaign is designed to bring the excitement of the FIFA World Cup beyond the pitch and into restaurants, turning meal occasions into miniature match-day experiences for football enthusiasts.
The timing aligns with a landmark edition of the tournament. Running from June 11 to July 19, FIFA World Cup 2026 is the first in history to feature 48 national teams and is being jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, the first time the competition has been staged across three countries.
As brands race to tap into football’s global fan base, McDonald’s is betting that a combination of burgers, collectibles and World Cup nostalgia can help fans keep the beautiful game within arm’s reach, even when they are far from the stadium.
