JioStar promotes Riddhi Chakraborty to associate director, marketing
Kolkata-based marketer climbs the ranks after less than a year at the company
KOLKATA: Riddhi Chakraborty is not wasting time. Barely nine months after joining JioStar as marketing manager, she has been elevated to associate director, marketing, based in Kolkata, a promotion that lands with the kind of speed most careers take years to earn.
The rise is less an overnight story than a decade in the making. Chakraborty spent nearly four years at Disney Star as assistant brand manager, cutting her teeth on campaigns before JioStar’s formation absorbed her into the merged entity. Before that, she spent over six years at ABP Group as senior brand executive, serving as brand custodian for Anandabazar Patrika and the group’s Bengali magazines, and picked up a Star Performer Award along the way. Earlier still, she worked at Hitachi Home & Life Solutions on the regional marketing side, helping launch the company’s refrigerator business across eastern India.
Her toolkit reads like a checklist for exactly the job she has now landed: show launches, 360-degree marketing, audience growth and brand partnerships, all built around integrated campaigns designed to drive viewership and strengthen market position.
“Honoured to step into the role of Associate Director, Marketing at JioStar. Here’s to creating bigger ideas, stronger campaigns and lasting impact. Onwards and upwards,” Chakraborty said, marking the move.
For JioStar, still bedding down after its formation from the Viacom18 and Disney India merger, promotions like this signal a company building out its marketing bench with people who already know the terrain. For Chakraborty, it is a fast climb through India’s media industry, one brand campaign at a time, now with a bigger canvas to work on.
