Ixigo urges Gen Z to explore India’s hidden gems with Independence Day rap

GURUGRAM: This Independence Day, ixigo is turning up the volume on India’s travel story, urging Gen Z to look beyond the usual hotspots with a new rap anthem celebrating the country’s hidden gems.

The travel platform has released ‘Iss desh mein rakha dekha kya hai?’, a high-energy music video that takes viewers on a rapid-fire journey across India’s diverse landscapes, heritage and culture.

Conceptualised and produced in-house, the campaign moves from the Ajanta Caves and Hampi to the salt deserts of Kutch, while also showcasing the Himalayas, forests, waterfalls, wildlife and coastal landscapes.

At the heart of the campaign is a simple invitation to travellers: look at India with fresh eyes and discover what lies beyond the destinations everyone already knows.

The campaign is designed specifically for Gen Z, using rap and fast-paced visuals to make domestic exploration feel contemporary and exciting. It builds on the idea that freedom is not only about independence, but also about having the freedom to explore.

Speaking about the campaign, ixigo group SVP, marketing Ameya Velankar said the company wanted to capture India’s diversity in a format that felt “young, energetic and distinctly Indian”.

The campaign also uses AI as a creative tool to bring the travel stories to life, while keeping the song and visuals rooted in real destinations and experiences across the country.

For ixigo, the message is less about ticking off famous tourist attractions and more about encouraging young Indians to discover the country’s lesser-known stories, cultures and landscapes.

With its mix of music, AI and travel inspiration, the campaign gives India’s hidden corners a new soundtrack this Independence Day.
