ITC Limited elevates Chandan Kumar to general manager – marketing
Kumar brings over 17 years of FMCG experience across ITC and Amul to the role
MUMBAI: ITC Limited has elevated Chandan Kumar to general manager, marketing, for its Aashirvaad Dairy business.
Kumar announced the move on LinkedIn and took on the new role in July 2026, after nearly 10 years with ITC. He was previously senior brand manager, a position he held from July 2019 to June 2026.
In his new role, Kumar will oversee marketing for Aashirvaad Dairy, bringing more than 17 years of experience across FMCG, brand building, portfolio strategy and business growth.
During his tenure at ITC, Kumar played a key role in building the Aashirvaad Svasti brand, working across brand strategy, portfolio management, communication, new product development, marketing campaigns and P&L management.
He also led ITC’s entry into the dairy category under the Aashirvaad brand, working on the launch of products including milk, curd, paneer, lassi and mishti doi.
Before joining ITC, Kumar spent more than seven years with GCMMF, the organisation behind Amul. He worked across sales and brand management roles, including area sales manager, key account manager for modern trade and brand manager.
At GCMMF, his responsibilities included driving growth for milk powder brands, developing regional marketing strategies and managing modern trade operations for Amul’s dairy portfolio.
Kumar holds an MBA in marketing from the Institute of Rural Management Anand, which he completed between 2007 and 2009. He also holds a BSc in chemistry from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University.
His elevation comes as ITC continues to build its presence in the dairy segment, with Kumar’s experience across both Amul and Aashirvaad positioning him to take the category forward with a mix of brand-building and commercial expertise.
