MUMBAI: In media, the best deals are often made long before the ad goes live. Havas Media Network India has strengthened its leadership bench by appointing Sparsh Ganguli as Head of Trading, as the network sharpens its media trading capabilities and deepens strategic partnerships across the country.

Based in Mumbai, Ganguli will report to Mohit Joshi, CEO, Havas Media Network India, and lead the network’s trading function nationwide. His mandate includes strengthening media partnerships, enhancing trading capabilities and driving greater commercial efficiency as Havas continues to expand its integrated media offerings.

Ganguli joins Havas with more than three decades of experience across the media, advertising and entertainment industries. Most recently, he served as Country Head – India at Astus Group, where he led the company’s India operations and growth strategy.

Before that, he spent over 12 years as Business Head at Matrix Publicities and Media India Pvt. Ltd., part of the WPP Group, where he played a key role in building the organisation into one of India’s leading media buying and trading businesses.

His career also includes leadership stints at GroupM ESP, Sahara One Media & Entertainment, Sony Entertainment Television and Star TV, giving him experience across media trading, buying, sales, digital strategy, strategic partnerships and business management.

The appointment comes as media agencies continue to place greater emphasis on commercial negotiations, data-led buying and cross-platform partnerships in an increasingly fragmented advertising landscape.

Commenting on the appointment, Mohit Joshi said Ganguli’s extensive experience in media trading and strategic partnerships would strengthen Havas Media Network India’s integrated capabilities and support the network’s commercial growth strategy.

Ganguli said he looked forward to working with teams across the network to strengthen partnerships with the media ecosystem while creating long-term value for clients and stakeholders.

The appointment reflects Havas Media Network India’s continued investment in leadership and future-ready capabilities as agencies increasingly compete on the strength of integrated planning, data-driven media buying and strategic commercial partnerships.
