MUMBAI: A new swipe is in store for flutrr’s leadership. Relationship app flutrr has appointed Ankit Santra as its chief marketing officer, promoting its former creative head as the company prepares for its next phase of growth.

Santra succeeds Anirban Banerjee, who has stepped down as chief marketing officer after five years to take on the role of deputy chief executive officer.

In his new role, Santra will oversee flutrr’s end-to-end marketing strategy, including brand building, advertising, product marketing, design and revenue growth. He will also be responsible for driving user acquisition, engagement, monetisation and brand equity as the company continues to position itself as an AI-powered relationship platform tailored for Indian users.

The appointment marks another step in Santra’s rapid rise within the startup. He joined flutrr as creative head in October 2025, where he led the company’s rebranding, developed its creative identity and spearheaded campaigns spanning brand films, app experiences and offline activations.

Before joining flutrr, Santra had a brief stint as a director at dentsu’s Amplifi division, where he worked on campaigns including Pantaloons’ Durga Puja initiative and Flipkart’s Big Billion Days campaign. He also ran his own production venture, Pingax Films, directing more than 20 advertising campaigns, and earlier led the digital film unit at I-PAC. His career began with an internship as a reporter at The Telegraph. He holds a master’s degree in film studies from MetFilm School in the UK.

Announcing the transition on LinkedIn, flutrr deputy chief executive officer and co-founder Anirban Banerjee described the appointment as the culmination of a decade-long professional and personal journey.

Banerjee said Santra had been instrumental in reshaping flutrr’s brand over the past year through a comprehensive rebranding exercise. He added that Santra’s creative vision, willingness to challenge conventions and deep understanding of the company’s identity made him the natural choice to lead its marketing function.

Santra, reflecting on his appointment, said his career had been shaped less by formal business training and more by learning through experience and the trust placed in him by colleagues and mentors. He also congratulated Banerjee on his new leadership role, saying he looked forward to the company’s next chapter.

The company echoed the announcement in a separate statement, crediting Santra with helping build flutrr’s brand identity and creative direction. It said his leadership would now guide the company’s marketing vision and brand strategy as it seeks to strengthen its position in India’s fast-growing relationship app market.
