dentsu acquires Scroll Stop to strengthen performance creative capabilities
Seven-year-old agency joins dentsu as performance marketing and creative converge
MUMBAI: Scroll Stop has officially stopped scrolling and started scaling. dentsu has acquired the performance creative agency, bringing the seven-year-old independent shop into its global network under the new identity, dentsu Scroll Stop.
The acquisition was announced by Scroll Stop co-founder and Creative Strategist Vidhu Ravinath on LinkedIn, marking a new chapter for an agency that began as a bootstrapped venture with an initial investment of just Rs 15,000.
Ravinath said he started Scroll Stop from a bedroom with Rs 15,000 and spent the following seven years building the business through uncertainty, experimentation and failures. The agency went on to develop capabilities across digital, social and content marketing, with a focus on performance-led creative.
With the acquisition, Scroll Stop’s expertise in performance creative, social-first campaigns and digital storytelling will become part of dentsu’s offering. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
For dentsu, the deal comes as agency networks look to bring creative and performance marketing closer together. Brands are increasingly seeking campaigns that can not only attract attention but also deliver measurable outcomes across digital platforms, making specialist performance creative capabilities an increasingly valuable addition to large agency groups.
Ravinath described the acquisition as the start of another chapter for the agency, reflecting on the seven-year journey from a bedroom operation to becoming part of a global advertising network.
The agency will now operate as dentsu Scroll Stop, with its performance creative capabilities adding another layer to dentsu’s digital and creative proposition.
