“The Amazon Great Indian Festival celebrates the spirit of Indian festivities by bringing together customers, sellers and brands for the country’s biggest shopping celebration,” said Amazon India vice president Saurabh Srivastava.

He added that customers across Bharat could expect the lowest prices of the year on crores of products, along with new launches and a broad mix of premium and value products. Delivery options will range from minutes and hours to same-day and next-day delivery.

The sale will cover a wide range of categories, with major brands expected to bring new launches and festive offers across smartphones, electronics, TVs, fashion and beauty, kitchen and outdoor products, home décor, appliances and everyday needs.

Prime members will also get access to a festive line-up of titles on Prime Video, including Originals across genres and languages.

Amazon is also entering the sale period with an expanded logistics network. The company said it has created more than 160,000 seasonal work opportunities across its India operations network, covering 400 cities, including tier 2 and tier 3 locations.

Ahead of the festive season, Amazon India has added 20 fulfilment centres, six sort centres and 150 last-mile delivery stations as part of its biggest-ever operations network expansion.

The company said its seller base in India has crossed 20 lakh, with more than three lakh sellers joining the platform over the past year.

Amazon said its delivery network can now get tens of thousands of products to customers within minutes or a few hours, more than one million products on the same day and over four million products the next day, alongside millions of products eligible for Prime Delivery.

Its ultra-fast delivery service Amazon Now is currently available to millions of customers across more than 60 cities. The service is also present in non-metro markets including Jalandhar, Tirupati, Warangal, Dharwad, Vellore and Berhampur, and Amazon plans to expand it to 100 cities before Diwali.

Customers can use Amazon Now to shop for groceries, fresh produce, frozen foods, beverages, household essentials, personal care products, fashion and beauty items, small appliances and home and kitchen products.
