Aditi Kumari joins Britannia Industries as Group Brand Manager
Former Reliance Retail marketer brings experience from SC Johnson and Mother Dairy
MUMBAI: A new brand chapter is on the menu for Aditi Kumari, who has joined Britannia Industries as Group Brand Manager, moving from Reliance Retail after nearly four years with the retailer. Kumari announced her appointment on LinkedIn, with the new role beginning in September 2026. She was previously Group Brand Manager at Reliance Retail, where she worked from October 2022 to September 2026, handling brand-related responsibilities in Bengaluru.
Her move brings experience across retail, packaged consumer goods, home care and marketing communications to Britannia, one of India’s established food companies. While details of her specific portfolio at Britannia have not been disclosed, her career spans brand strategy, category communication, media planning, product launches and campaign execution.
Before Reliance Retail, Kumari spent three years at SC Johnson as Associate Manager – Marketing, from November 2019 to October 2022. She managed marketing and communications for the aerosol category, including brands Baygon and All Out All Night, with responsibilities covering profit and loss, market share and bottom-line delivery against annual business plans.
Her role also involved planning and executing above-the-line campaigns based on market requirements, alongside working with global teams on brand revamps, new product launches and adapting creative campaigns for local markets. The experience gave her exposure to both the commercial and creative sides of brand building.
Kumari’s earlier career includes a stint at A. O. Smith Corporation as Product Category Manager between December 2018 and November 2019. There, she worked on category communication for water purifiers, campaigns to strengthen the brand’s pan-India presence, new product development and launches, digital video commercials and media buying.
She also spent more than four years at Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable, progressing through marketing roles. She joined the company as Assistant Manager in May 2014 and held the position until April 2017, before moving into the role of Deputy Manager – Marketing from April 2017 to June 2018.
Her responsibilities at Mother Dairy included sales, market analysis and branding, providing an early grounding in consumer-facing businesses. She began her professional career at Tata Consultancy Services as an Assistant System Engineer, working there from August 2010 to May 2012.
Kumari’s career path reflects a shift across technology, dairy, water purification, home care, retail and now the food business. The move to Britannia places her in a category where brand communication, consumer preferences and product positioning play a central role in competing for attention across India’s packaged food market.
Her appointment comes with experience in managing established consumer brands and coordinating marketing activity across different channels. Her previous work at Reliance Retail and SC Johnson also gives her exposure to brand development and campaign execution across businesses with different product categories and consumer needs.
Britannia has not announced further details about the brands or categories Kumari will oversee in her new position. Her appointment marks the latest step in a career spanning more than 16 years across technology and marketing-related roles, with her most recent move taking her from retail into the food and consumer goods sector.
