Abhinav Kumar Bedi elevated to vice president, sales & distribution at Vodafone Idea

Telecom veteran with over 25 years of cross-sector experience takes charge of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh operations

MUMBAI: Vodafone Idea Limited has elevated Abhinav Kumar Bedi to the role of vice president, sales & distribution for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, strengthening its leadership team with a seasoned industry professional who brings more than 25 years of experience across telecom, FMCG, hospitality and retail.

Bedi announced his new role through a LinkedIn post, expressing enthusiasm about leading the company’s sales and distribution operations across the two key circles. The appointment marks another milestone in a career built around sales leadership, customer engagement, channel development and business growth.

Prior to this elevation, Bedi served as vice president, cluster postpaid head for Maharashtra and Goa at Vodafone Idea. Since joining the telecom operator in 2023, he has been responsible for driving postpaid business growth and strengthening customer acquisition and retention strategies across the region.

Before moving to Vodafone Idea, Bedi spent more than two decades at Bharti Airtel, where he held a series of leadership roles across sales, retail operations, enterprise accounts and direct-to-consumer business. His most recent assignment at Airtel was as state head for the D2C business in Uttar Pradesh West and Uttarakhand, overseeing postpaid, FTTH and online postpaid operations.

Over the years, he also served as national lead for franchise retail, retail head for Uttar Pradesh West and Uttarakhand, franchise retail head, zonal sales manager for prepaid and postpaid businesses, regional channel manager for enterprise accounts, and corporate sales leader. These roles gave him extensive experience in managing large teams, expanding distribution networks and driving revenue growth across diverse markets.

Bedi began his telecom journey with BPL Mobile, where he worked in corporate sales before joining Airtel in 2003.

An alumnus of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad’s management development programme, Bedi has developed expertise in channel management, strategic planning, key account management, branding and large-scale sales operations. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for creating high-performing teams and delivering consistent business results in highly competitive markets.

His elevation comes at a time when Vodafone Idea continues to focus on strengthening its market presence and expanding customer reach. With his extensive experience in telecom distribution and sales leadership, Bedi is expected to play a key role in driving growth across the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh circles.
