MUMBAI: One year in, BULLET Microdrama is looking beyond India. The microdrama platform, backed by ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (‘Z’), has partnered with Vitrina, a global film, television and video supply-chain intelligence company, to take its experience of building short-form vertical content into international microdrama markets. The plan is simple and ambitious: use global intelligence and a partner network to assess more than 100 international markets, and build relationships with creators, producers and distribution partners.

The timing makes sense. As BULLET completes its first year in India, its focus is shifting towards markets where its content, technology and production capabilities can be adapted to local audiences and business models. That means building relationships with creators, producers, distributors and platforms, while exploring new opportunities for its AI-led capabilities across the wider entertainment ecosystem.

Intelligence meets ambition

The partnership pairs a content platform with a data engine. Vitrina’s network across more than 100 countries and VIQI, its vertical AI platform, will give BULLET access to intelligence on companies, creators, projects and market activity across territories and genres. That will support the identification of potential content, distribution and co-production opportunities, while also helping Trinetra AI identify potential global clients and use cases for its technology across international markets.

The scale of the data behind it is considerable. Vitrina’s data foundation covers more than 300,000 companies, more than 3 million professionals, more than 1.6 million projects and more than 30 million mapped relationships. For a business that wants to pick its partners with care, that is a rather useful map.

Azim Lalani, co-founder and chief business officer, BULLET Microdrama and Trinetra AI, put the logic plainly. “Over the past year, we have built more than a content roster,” he said. “We have developed a strong understanding of how short-form vertical stories need to be created, produced and localised for different audiences. As microdrama expands across markets, the next step is to identify where these capabilities and our content can create value internationally. Vitrina provides the intelligence and access to approach this expansion with greater precision, while also enabling us to learn from local creators and ecosystems. The partnership will help us identify global clients and use cases for Trinetra AI, extending its capabilities and applications beyond India. Our ambition is to take what we have learned in India and build a global microdrama business through the right stories, partnerships and distribution models.”

One story, every market

The sharpest idea comes from the technology side. Saurabh Kushwah, co-founder and CPTO, BULLET Microdrama and Trinetra AI, argued that the next stage of global entertainment will be won on cultural fit rather than reach alone.

“The next billion viewers won’t necessarily watch stories originally made in their language. They’ll watch stories that feel like their own,” he said.

“As entertainment becomes increasingly borderless, cultural relevance will define which stories travel and which ones truly resonate. The challenge is no longer just distributing content globally, but making it feel native to every market.

“At Trinetra AI, we’re building the intelligence and technology infrastructure to make that possible. By bringing together audience intelligence, AI-powered dubbing, precise lip-sync, visual localisation and cultural adaptation, we’re enabling studios and content owners to unlock the global potential of their libraries at a speed and scale that traditional production workflows could never achieve.

“Our association with Vitrina is an important step in that direction. By combining our technology capabilities with Vitrina’s global industry intelligence and ecosystem connectivity, we see an opportunity to accelerate meaningful partnerships across studios, producers, distributors and platforms worldwide.

“The future of entertainment isn’t about making a thousand different stories for a thousand different markets. It’s about giving one great story the power to belong everywhere.”

A format on the move

For Vitrina, the opportunity is about speed. Atul Phadnis, founder and chief executive officer, Vitrina, said: “Microdrama is scaling faster than any format we’ve tracked, and the platforms that win it will be the ones who move first on the right partners.”

Put the pieces together and the strategy is clear. BULLET brings a year of experience in creating, producing and localising short-form vertical stories. Trinetra AI brings the tools for dubbing, lip-sync and cultural adaptation. Vitrina brings the map of who is who in 100-plus countries. The bet is that the right partner, found early, matters more than the biggest budget.
