Spotify launches Premium Rewards in India with brand offers and exclusive music events
New membership programme adds lifestyle perks, partner discounts and fan experiences
Mumbai: Spotify is striking a new chord with subscribers by adding lifestyle benefits to its music streaming service. The audio streaming giant has launched Premium Rewards in India, a limited-period programme that combines brand discounts with exclusive music experiences to make its Premium subscription more than just an ad-free listening service.
The initiative gives Premium subscribers access to offers from brands including MakeMyTrip, Nykaa, Tira, AJIO Luxe, Gully Labs and Airbnb, alongside invite-only concerts, intimate listening sessions and other exclusive music-focused events.
With the move, Spotify is positioning its Premium offering as a broader membership programme rather than simply a paid music subscription. The company said it plans to introduce additional partner offers and subscriber experiences on an ongoing basis.
Commenting on the launch, Spotify India, head of marketing, Shipra Srivastava said Spotify Premium has always focused on delivering high-quality, uninterrupted listening with offline access. She added that Premium Rewards extends that experience beyond the app by connecting subscribers with brands, destinations and experiences that complement their everyday lives.
The programme is available to all Premium subscribers in India through a dedicated microsite, where users can browse and claim offers as they become available.
Spotify is also continuing to promote its Premium plans with introductory pricing. The Standard Premium plan is available at Rs 139 for the first two months before renewing at Rs 139 per month, while the Student plan is priced at Rs 69 for the first two months, followed by Rs 69 per month for eligible verified students.
For households, Spotify offers a Platinum plan priced at Rs 299 per month, supporting up to three accounts at the same address. The plan includes lossless audio, AI-powered features such as a personal AI DJ and AI playlist creation, along with compatibility with DJ software.
The launch comes as streaming platforms increasingly look beyond content libraries to deepen subscriber engagement through exclusive benefits and real-world experiences. By bundling shopping, travel and live music perks into its Premium offering, Spotify is aiming to give users more reasons to stay subscribed long after the playlist ends.
