Snap names Ronan Harris chief commercial officer
Former Google executive takes charge of global ad sales as Ajit Mohan exits Snap
MUMBAI: Snap has named Ronan Harris as chief commercial officer, handing him responsibility for the company’s global advertising sales and go-to-market organisation as it looks to accelerate ad revenue growth and strengthen relationships with advertisers and agencies.
Harris has led Snap’s business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa for nearly four years. During his tenure, Europe delivered 10 consecutive quarters of double-digit year-on-year revenue growth through the second quarter of 2026.
Revenue from the region grew nearly 40 per cent in the first half of 2026, highlighting the commercial momentum Harris will now be expected to build across Snap’s global advertising business.
Before joining Snap, Harris spent more than 17 years at Google, where he worked on growing its advertising business across EMEA. His most recent role at Google was vice president and managing director for the UK and Ireland.
Snap co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel said Harris brings advertising expertise, strong partner relationships and a sustained record of growth at Snap. He added that the company would work with Harris to help more advertisers succeed on Snapchat and expand its advertising business.
The appointment follows the departure of Ajit Mohan, who is leaving Snap after nearly four years. Mohan served as chief business officer and previously as president of APAC.
Snap credited Mohan for his leadership and contributions during his tenure and wished him well in his future endeavours.
Snap operates Snapchat, its visual messaging platform, along with Specs Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary focused on computing, as well as Bitmoji, Saturn and other digital services.
