MUMBAI: One Life Studios (OLS) has expanded its international distribution footprint with a series of new licensing agreements across Southeast Asia, including the sale of 60 Indian microdrama titles to three regional streaming platforms, as the company looks to capitalise on growing global demand for short-form content.

The Mumbai-based independent media company, which operates across content production, acquisition, distribution and syndication, said the latest agreements strengthen its decade-long presence in Southeast Asia while broadening the international reach of its content library. The deals were negotiated by Shashank Singh, lead, syndication & content alliances, and Rohit Krishna, senior manager, syndication & content alliances.

As part of the expansion, historical drama Chandragupta Maurya has been licensed to CBS in Cambodia and ANTV and Vidio OTT in Indonesia. Baal Krishna has been acquired by JKN Global Media in Thailand, while Devi has been licensed to Channel K in Myanmar and MyTV in Cambodia. Historical epic Porus has been picked up by JKN Global Media and Today TV in Vietnam.

One Life Studios has also licensed 60 titles from its library of more than 500 Indian microdramas to three Southeast Asian digital platforms, including Vibe Entertainment & Interactive Films LLC. The company said microdramas are emerging as one of the fastest-growing content formats globally, creating new opportunities for Indian storytelling in international markets.

Alongside the licensing announcements, One Life Studios unveiled plans for two premium historical fantasy drama series that are currently in development. Both projects have been created, written and directed by founder and chief executive Siddharth Kumar Tewary, with the company actively seeking international co-production partners ahead of production.

The latest agreements build on the company’s recent international sales, including Dhruv Tara to Today TV in Vietnam and Porus and Chandragupta Maurya to Atinka TV in Ghana.

The expansion reflects the increasing appetite for Indian scripted content across international broadcasters and streaming platforms, particularly in Southeast Asia, where mythology, historical dramas and short-form storytelling continue to attract audiences. One Life Studios said the new partnerships will further strengthen its global distribution strategy while opening new avenues for premium scripted productions through international collaborations.
