BGMI swings into Spider Man universe with Marvel themed 4.5 update
KRAFTON India brings Spider Man gameplay, new city and missions from July 30
MUMBAI: The battleground is about to get tangled in webs instead of smoke. KRAFTON India is giving BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI) one of its biggest gameplay overhauls yet, bringing Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day into the game with a collaboration that focuses as much on movement as it does on combat.
Rolling out as part of the BGMI 4.5 Update, the collaboration will run from July 30 to September 14, 2026, coinciding with the theatrical release of the latest Spider-Man film. Rather than limiting the partnership to character skins and cosmetic additions, the update fundamentally changes how players navigate the battleground.
The biggest transformation comes to Erangel, where familiar locations make way for Skyline Plaza, a high-rise urban district featuring rooftop combat zones, elevated walkways and skyline ziplines that encourage players to think vertically instead of fighting solely at ground level.
Adding to the superhero experience are two Spider-Man-inspired gear upgrades. Peter Parker’s Gloves introduce Web Swing for rapid movement between buildings and Web Attack, allowing players to trap and slow opponents using webs. Meanwhile, Peter Parker’s Hoodie enhances mobility with Wall Climbing, Double Jump, and Spider Sense, which helps detect nearby enemy movement through visual indicators.
The collaboration also expands beyond combat with several interactive locations inspired by Spider-Man’s world. Players can explore Peter Parker’s Apartment, uncover Easter eggs, experience a Train Rescue Sequence recreating one of the superhero’s most iconic moments, visit a Rescue Photo Zone, and explore a Cemetery Tribute Zone featuring hidden rewards and subtle Spider-Man appearances.
KRAFTON is also extending the collaboration into WOW Mode, introducing a narrative-driven experience where players can swing freely across the city, complete Spider-Man-themed missions, tackle rooftop parkour challenges and unlock progression-based rewards without the pressure of battle royale gameplay.
The collaboration signals a broader trend in gaming, where publishers are increasingly using blockbuster entertainment franchises to reshape gameplay rather than simply adding branded cosmetics. For BGMI, the update also reflects a growing emphasis on immersive live-service experiences that keep long-running titles fresh through large-scale seasonal collaborations.
The Spider-Man: Brand New Day collaboration will be available to BGMI players from July 30 until September 14, 2026, with additional gameplay reveals and rollout updates expected across the game’s official social media channels in the lead-up to launch.
