JioStar appoints Manoj Kothari as director of content marketing for Gujarati cluster
Former Tulsi Tea marketing executive takes charge of content strategy for regional business
Ahmedabad: JioStar has appointed Manoj Kothari as director, content marketing for the Gujarati cluster, strengthening its regional content leadership as the broadcaster sharpens its focus on local language audiences.
Kothari announced his appointment in a LinkedIn post, saying he looks forward to taking on a new challenge and contributing to impactful work with the JioStar team.
In his new role, based in Ahmedabad, he will lead content marketing initiatives for JioStar’s Gujarati portfolio, with a focus on audience engagement, brand building and promotional strategy across the network’s regional entertainment offerings.
Kothari joins JioStar after nearly six years at GM Tea Packers Pvt. Ltd., where he most recently served as general manager, marketing for the company’s Tulsi Tea brand. During his tenure, he led strategic planning, brand management, product development and integrated marketing campaigns aimed at expanding the brand’s market presence.
Before that, he was senior manager, marketing and sales development at the company, where he oversaw marketing and business operations across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. His responsibilities included distribution expansion, brand campaigns, pricing strategy and leading a team spanning sales, branding and business operations.
Earlier in his career, Kothari held senior marketing and corporate communications roles at Abellon and Sintex Industries Limited, managing branding, media relations, corporate affairs and stakeholder communications. He also worked with Redbricks Education Foundation, where he handled marketing strategy, media planning and events.
Kothari holds an MBA in marketing from South Gujarat University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from H.K. Commerce College.
His appointment comes as broadcasters continue to invest in regional language markets, with content marketing playing an increasingly important role in driving viewer engagement and strengthening brand recall across television and digital platforms.
