Jio rolls out Rs 55 JioTV Pro plan with 1,000 plus live TV channels for 30 days
Affordable add-on brings premium HD TV channels to prepaid and postpaid users
NEW DELHI: A small recharge, a big channel shuffle. Reliance Jio has expanded its entertainment portfolio with the launch of the JioTV Pro add-on pack, priced at Rs 55. The new plan offers prepaid and postpaid subscribers access to more than 1,000 live television channels for 30 days, giving users an inexpensive way to stream TV on their smartphones without opting for a larger entertainment bundle.
Available through the MyJio app, the recharge unlocks premium HD television channels that are not part of the app’s free offering. Subscribers can watch content from broadcasters including JioStar, Sony Group Corporation, Sun TV Network and Warner Bros. Discovery across more than 16 Indian and international languages.
The pack, however, comes with one notable limitation. While it includes premium entertainment channels, it does not provide access to premium live sports broadcasts from JioStar or Sony. Users looking to watch marquee sporting events will still need separate subscriptions or higher-tier plans.
Jio has also bundled 10MB of mobile data with the recharge. Although the data allowance is too small for regular internet use, it can serve as a temporary backup if a subscriber’s primary data pack has expired.
Activating the plan is straightforward. Customers can open the MyJio app, head to the Recharge section, choose Entertainment Plans, select the Rs 55 JioTV Pro pack and complete the payment. Once activated, users can log into the JioTV app using their Jio mobile number to begin streaming supported channels.
Beyond live television, the JioTV app aggregates content from streaming platforms such as Sony LIV, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises’s ZEE5 and MX Player, allowing users to switch between live TV and selected on-demand programming within a single app.
The launch reflects a broader push by telecom operators to strengthen their digital entertainment offerings. As mobile viewing continues to grow, operators are increasingly bundling streaming services with recharge plans to improve customer engagement. Rival Bharti Airtel also offers live television through its entertainment ecosystem, but Jio’s latest pack focuses on keeping the entry price low for viewers primarily interested in live TV.
Since entering India’s telecom market in 2016, Reliance Jio has grown into the country’s largest mobile operator while steadily expanding its digital services portfolio. The new Rs 55 JioTV Pro recharge continues that strategy by targeting everyday viewers who want affordable access to news, movies, entertainment and regional programming on the go. For sports enthusiasts, the search for the perfect streaming pack may continue, but for regular TV watchers, Jio has made the entry ticket significantly cheaper.
