MUMBAI: When exam results open one door, the right guidance can unlock many more. TV9 Bangla brought students, parents and educational institutions under one roof with what it described as India’s Biggest Education Expo, creating a platform to explore higher education opportunities while recognising academic excellence through the fifth edition of the Uttaran Academic Excellence Honour.

The expo featured leading educational institutions offering information on a broad spectrum of academic disciplines, professional courses and emerging career opportunities. Designed as a one-stop destination for students preparing for life after board examinations, the event focused on helping families make informed choices in an increasingly competitive education landscape.

The event was inaugurated by Agnimitra Paul, Minister for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Government of West Bengal, alongside K. Vikram, COO – National & International, TV9 Network; Amritanshu Bhattacharya, Managing Editor and Business Head, TV9 Bangla; Ashish Beriwala, Director, SRMB Srijan; and Shiva Kumar, Assistant Director, KL University.

Beyond counselling and admissions, the event celebrated academic achievement through the Uttaran Academic Excellence Honour, recognising meritorious students from backward and tribal communities who excelled despite significant socio-economic challenges. Students including Labani Mondal, Adrija Gan, Manimala Besra, Sagar Mondal and Alia Paul were among those felicitated for their outstanding performances.

The awards ceremony was attended by Dr Sukanta Majumdar, Union Minister of State for Education and Development of North Eastern Region, and Dr Shankar Ghosh, West Bengal’s Cabinet Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Tourism, along with other dignitaries.

The event also honoured a wide range of educational institutions for their contributions to academic excellence, innovation, student development and social impact. Among those recognised were Adamas University, Brainware University, JIS University, Sister Nivedita University, University of Engineering & Management, Praxis Business School, MCKV Institute of Engineering, NSHM Knowledge Campus Durgapur and several other higher education institutions across the region.

The dual-format initiative reflects a growing trend among media organisations to extend their role beyond news dissemination by creating platforms that connect students, educators and institutions while celebrating stories of perseverance and educational achievement.

Supported by partners including Novesta Group, Lalbaba Rice, Khukumoni Sindoor & Alta and AKMA Group, the event reinforced TV9 Bangla’s efforts to promote education, career awareness and academic excellence across West Bengal.
