MUMBAI: Suyog Gothi has stepped down as India country head at Pocket FM, ending a two-and-a-half-year stint during which he also oversaw the company’s UK business and led its Pocket TV initiative.

According to his professional profile, Gothi served as country head – India and UK and head of Pocket TV from December 2023 until May 2026. He joined the company as it accelerated its expansion across international markets and diversified beyond audio storytelling into video content.

Before joining Pocket FM, Gothi spent nearly seven years at PhonePe, where he held several leadership roles across the fintech firm’s payments and lending businesses.

Most recently, he served as head of merchant lending between March 2022 and December 2023. Prior to that, he led PhonePe’s UPI payments business for more than five years, overseeing profit and loss, partnerships, bank integrations and operations across UPI payments, international remittances, e-NACH and fund transfer services, including IMPS, NEFT and RTGS.

Earlier in his career, Gothi worked as a business analyst at Flipkart after graduating with a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

Pocket FM has not announced a successor or commented publicly on Gothi’s departure. His next professional move is also yet to be disclosed.

The exit comes as digital content platforms continue to evolve their business models amid growing competition in audio, video and AI-driven entertainment, making leadership transitions closely watched across the sector.
