ShepHertz appoints Anuraag Kochhar as chief technology officer
Tech veteran with nearly 30 years’ experience to lead AI and platform growth.
MUMBAI: When artificial intelligence is racing ahead, companies are hunting for navigators, not passengers. ShepHertz may have just found one. Applied AI platform company ShepHertz has appointed Anuraag Kochhar as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), bringing nearly three decades of global experience across software engineering, cloud architecture, enterprise AI, data science and business leadership to its executive team.
The appointment comes as enterprises, governments and regulated industries increasingly seek sovereign AI solutions that balance innovation with security, compliance and operational control. Kochhar will lead ShepHertz’s technology strategy, product innovation, engineering roadmap and AI-driven transformation initiatives as the company expands its footprint across global markets.
In his new role, Kochhar will oversee the development and scaling of ShepHertz’s growing portfolio of AI platforms, including AgentAnywhere, wAnywhere, BrowseAnywhere and TalentAnywhere. He will also play a key role in advancing the company’s proprietary AI-Infused Software Development Lifecycle (AILC) framework and strengthening enterprise AI capabilities across its platforms.
Kochhar arrives with a career that spans continents and technology cycles. His professional journey began in software engineering, where he worked on embedded systems and cryptographic technologies for smart cards, mobile devices and set-top boxes at companies including Motorola, Schlumberger and STG. During his time at Motorola, he was nominated to the company’s Business Leadership Development Programme, gaining early exposure to the commercial side of technology leadership.
Over the years, his responsibilities expanded far beyond code. He held senior leadership roles at Teleste in Finland and SMT Electronic Technology in Taiwan, where he helped establish business operations, manage country-level activities and work with regulatory authorities, including India’s Bureau of Indian Standards.
More recently, Kochhar has led initiatives across cloud computing, artificial intelligence, blockchain and data science, serving as CTO and Chief Data Officer at organisations including Bizburd and Webenza, while also co-founding healthcare technology ventures. He is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore’s Executive General Management Programme and is a Certified Independent Director accredited by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs.
His appointment arrives at a pivotal stage for ShepHertz as demand for enterprise-grade AI infrastructure accelerates globally. The company has increasingly positioned itself around sovereign and deployable AI solutions designed for organisations that require greater control over data governance, compliance and security.
Founded more than a decade ago, ShepHertz has built a sizeable global footprint, serving over 80,000 registered customers across 150 countries and processing more than 500 billion API calls worldwide. Its platforms are used by enterprises, financial institutions, healthcare providers and government organisations looking to deploy AI within tightly governed environments.
The company’s flagship platform, AgentAnywhere, has emerged as a key pillar of its strategy, offering agentic AI capabilities designed for regulated sectors where trust, compliance and operational accountability remain critical requirements.
As AI moves from experimentation to large-scale enterprise deployment, leadership appointments such as Kochhar’s reflect a broader industry trend, the battle is no longer only about building smarter models, but about creating secure, scalable and trustworthy systems that organisations can confidently deploy in the real world.
For ShepHertz, the new CTO’s brief is clear turn technical ambition into enterprise-scale execution, and help steer the company through the next chapter of the global AI race.
