Prathik Shetty elevated to executive producer at JioHotstar
Media professional’s rise caps nearly nine years across HBO, Times and JioHotstar
MUMBAI: The credits are rolling a little differently for Prathik Shetty these days. JioHotstar has promoted Shetty to executive producer, marking the latest chapter in a media career that has steadily moved from newsroom floors and production bays to the leadership ranks of India’s fast-evolving streaming ecosystem. Shetty announced the elevation on LinkedIn, stepping up from his previous role as Senior Producer, a position he held since March 2025. The promotion comes just over a year after he joined JioHotstar, where he has spent the last 15 months helping shape content and production initiatives.
His career trajectory reflects a journey through some of the industry’s most recognised media brands. Before JioHotstar, Shetty spent nearly three years at Viacom18 Media, progressing from Associate Producer to Producer between July 2022 and April 2025. Prior to that, he worked as Associate Producer at Times Network from January 2021 to July 2022.
Earlier in his career, Shetty spent more than three years with HBO and WarnerMedia between 2017 and 2020, gaining experience across post-production, promotion planning and content operations. He also had a brief stint with Prime Focus Technologies and began his professional journey as a Video Production Intern at The Glitch in 2016.
Across nearly nine years in the industry, Shetty has built expertise spanning content production, post-production workflows, business analysis and promotion strategy. His elevation comes at a time when streaming platforms are investing heavily in original content and strengthening production leadership as competition for audiences intensifies.
For Shetty, the promotion represents more than a new designation. It marks another milestone in a career built one production at a time, proving that in the world of content, the best stories are sometimes the ones unfolding behind the camera.
