JetSynthesys takes GEPL global as Season 3 heads to Willow TV in North America
Homegrown e-cricket league expands overseas with India and North America broadcast deal
New Delhi: JetSynthesys is ready to play a bigger innings. The company has expanded the reach of its Global e-Cricket Premier League (GEPL), with Season 3 set to make its international television debut on Willow TV across the United States and Canada, marking the league’s first overseas broadcast.
The tournament, which begins on August 1 and runs until August 9, will air live on Star Sports Select and Star Sports Khel, while streaming on JioHotstar in India. In North America, fans will be able to watch the action on Willow TV through the Willow Sports FAST platform as well as the broadcaster’s direct-to-consumer services.
The move marks a significant step for the franchise-based e-cricket competition as it looks to introduce India’s homegrown esports property to one of the world’s largest cricket-loving diaspora audiences.
Viewers can expect six hours of live coverage every day from 4 pm to 10 pm. The expanded broadcast footprint builds on the momentum of Season 2, when GEPL became the first e-cricket league to secure television coverage alongside the Indian Premier League on Star Sports and JioHotstar. According to JetSynthesys, the previous season generated more than 174 million impressions.
JetSynthesys chairman Rajan Navani said the international rollout reflects the growing recognition of e-cricket as a competitive sporting discipline.
“When we launched GEPL, e-cricket had no stage in India and little recognition as a competitive sporting discipline. Season 2 changed that by bringing the league to millions of viewers through national television. With Willow TV, we are now taking the next step by introducing India’s homegrown e-cricket league to passionate cricket audiences across the United States and Canada,” Navani said.
He added that the partnership represents the beginning of India’s digital sports intellectual property reaching global audiences and aligns with the company’s ambition of making India a creator and exporter of interactive entertainment.
Season 3 will once again be played on Real Cricket, the mobile game that has crossed 400 million lifetime downloads. Eight franchises will compete for a prize pool of Rs 3.1 crore at the Jairaj Sports and Convention Centre in Pune.
The latest edition also welcomes two new franchise owners. Singer Sonu Nigam joins the league as owner of the Kolkata Hawks, while gaming creator Tanmay Singh, better known as Scout, will lead the Gujarat Wolves. Returning owners include Peyush Bansal of Delhi Sharks, Nikhil Kamath, Ankit Nagori and Prashanth Prakash of Bengaluru Badgers, Sara Tendulkar of Mumbai Grizzlies, Suniel Shetty of Pune Stallions, Gopal Srinivasan, Madhusudanan R and Arjun Santhanakrishnan of Chennai Falcons, and Amit Mehta of Hyderabad Rhinos.
With its first international television broadcast and an expanded franchise line-up, GEPL is aiming to turn India’s homegrown e-cricket league into a global digital sporting property, one boundary at a time.
