Aayub Khan gears up for Sahara’s ‘Karishma’
MUMBAI: Bollywood heroes are playing negative characters on the small screen. Aayub Khan, of Mrityudand fame, is firming plans to play Karisma Kapoor’s son on Sahara TV’s mega serial Karishma – the Miracle of Destiny. The channel is supposed to premiere the serial on 28 April 2003. Khan also has plans to shoot pilots with Arun Frank and turn TV producer.
Khan is still accepting Bollywood feature films despite dedicating eight to 10 days per month to the shooting of the Sahara serial. The shooting schedules have been held in places such as New Zealand, Sahara’s Amby Valley (near Lonavla) and in Mumbai. Already, 40 episodes of Karishma have been canned.
Speaking to indiantelevision.com, Khan says:”Harsh Chhaya and I play the two evil, wayward sons of Karisma Kapoor in the serial. Evil seems to be the in thing and it was challenge to juxtapose my good looks with a negative dimension. As good-for-nothings,we try to squeeze everything out of our mother.”
Incidentally, Khan is also portraying a negative character in Harry Baweja’s soon to be released feature film Qayamat – City Under Threat. He is one of the villains – Sanjay Kapoor, Arbaaz Khan, Chunky Pandey are the others.
He has also completed Mrityudand director Prakash Jha’s latest feature film Gangajal. “We started the shooting on 22 February and wrapped up the entire shoot by March end. My co-stars include Ajay Devgan, Mukesh Tiwari, Mohan Joshi and Akash Soni. It has the same Bihari flavour as Mrityudand did.”
