Vauve Global acquires England Champions franchise ahead of WCL Season 3
Hong Kong-based investment arm of Dubai’s RV Group takes ownership before UAE debut
DUBAI: The England Champions franchise has a new owner ahead of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) Season 3, with Hong Kong-based investment arm Vauve Global acquiring the franchise from the upcoming season.
The acquisition by Vauve Global, the investment arm of Dubai-based RV Group, comes as WCL prepares to make its UAE debut, with Season 3 scheduled across Dubai and Sharjah from 3 to 18 October 2026.
The newly acquired England Champions is assembling a strong squad for the season, with former England internationals David Malan, Jason Roy and Moeen Ali among the players set to represent the side.
For Vauve Global and RV Group, the acquisition marks an entry into the growing legends-cricket format, with the franchise aiming to combine England’s cricketing legacy with the profile and experience of its former international stars.
“A new chapter for England Champions,” said Sam Fernandes.
“We are delighted to acquire the England Champions franchise in the World Championship of Legends. WCL has built an exciting global platform that brings legendary players and some of cricket’s greatest rivalries back to the field. England has a tremendous cricketing legacy, and we see a strong opportunity to build this franchise into a successful and globally recognised sporting property,” Fernandes said.
He added that the group was looking forward to being part of WCL’s next chapter and developing the England Champions franchise.
WCL founder and CEO Harshit Tomar welcomed the new ownership, describing the investment as a reflection of the league’s growing value and global potential.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Vauve Global and RV Group to the World Championship of Legends. Their investment in the England Champions is a strong reflection of the growing value and global potential of WCL,” Tomar said.
Season 3 will feature seven teams: India Champions, Pakistan Champions, England Champions, Australia Champions, South Africa Champions, West Indies Champions and Bangladesh Champions.
With WCL heading to the UAE for its third season, the England Champions acquisition adds a new ownership chapter to the league as it brings together former international stars and some of cricket’s established rivalries in Dubai and Sharjah.
