MUMBAI: Fear met its match, and Avinash Mishra came out on top. Mishra has won Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 15, beating Rithvik Dhanjani and Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, in the grand finale.

The latest season of the COLORS reality show returned after a two-year break and has emerged as one of India’s top non-fiction shows of 2026. The broadcaster said the season delivered twice the viewership of the previous edition.

Hosted by Rohit Shetty, the season was filmed against the rugged backdrop of Cape Town and introduced a ‘Champions vs Challengers’ format, bringing established franchise veterans face-to-face with newer contestants.

The season’s stunts ranged from heavy-machinery challenges to the high-pressure ‘Pain Auction’, keeping the danger quotient high throughout the competition.

Mishra entered the competition as one of the newer contestants but gradually emerged as its most consistent performer.

During Team Week, he was named captain of the challenger team and guided his squad out of danger against a veteran-heavy team led by Dhanjani. His performances across height-based and heavy-machinery stunts earned him a custom Fear Jacket signed by Shetty.

His biggest breakthrough came in a demanding underwater stunt, where he defeated seasoned contestant Karan Wahi to become the first contestant to secure a place in the season’s Top 5.

Mishra carried that momentum into the finale, eventually conquering the decisive helicopter-to-water stunt to claim the trophy.

Along with the title, he won a Rs 20 lakh cash prize, an ORN Europe trip and a new Maruti Suzuki Swift. All contestants also received Hero Xtreme bikes.

Speaking after his win, Mishra said the show gave him an opportunity to move beyond his established image as a television actor and prove himself through his actions.

“I came to Khatron Ke Khiladi wanting to test myself; I am leaving with a belief in myself that I didn’t have before,” Mishra said, adding that the biggest challenge was learning to manage fear in the moment.

He said the experience showed him that physical preparation was only one part of completing the stunts, with mental resilience proving equally important.

For a season built around pushing contestants beyond their comfort zones, Mishra’s journey delivered the clearest transformation, turning a challenger into the last contestant standing.
