MONACO: Sold out before the doors open. SPORTEL Monaco, the leading international gathering for sports media rights and technology professionals, is back at the Grimaldi Forum from 19 to 21 October 2026, and the exhibition floor is already 80 per cent sold out. In an industry where rights, technology and brands are colliding faster than ever, three days in Monaco look set to be the busiest of the calendar.

The gathering will bring together the industry’s key decision-makers for three days of business, innovation and high-level connections. From rights holders and broadcasters to brands, streamers, platforms and technology leaders, the international sports media community will once again converge in Monaco to exchange ideas, explore new opportunities and shape the future of sports content. The organisers describe it as three days, one global sports media, tech and marketing community.

The numbers back the pitch. More than 80 exhibitors are expected, representing media rights holders, networks, streaming platforms, marketing agencies, sports betting, and broadcast and streaming technology providers. Confirmed names include Relevent, Two Circles, Infront, LaLiga, NFL, FIFA, NBA, ESPN, Feedconstruct, Sportradar, Deltatre, Sponix, Scoreplay, Telstra and SES. They will be joined by many other leading organisations from across the sports media and technology ecosystem, such as YouTube, JioStar, Warner Bros, AWS and IMG.

The list of registered companies shows how wide the tent has become. It runs from broadcasters such as BBC, Sky Deutschland, Canal+ Group, TF1, ZDF and NHK to leagues and federations including the Premier League, Bundesliga Media, Lega Calcio Serie A, NFL, NBA, PGA Tour and UEFA. Clubs such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Liverpool sit alongside streamers and platforms including DAZN, YouTube and Coupang Play, and technology and data players such as Genius Sports, Stats Perform, Spiideo and Dolby OptiView. India is present too, with JioStar, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Grey Matter Entertainment and Indian Television all on the list.

Beyond the marketplace, SPORTEL Monaco offers a perspective on what comes next, bringing together industry trends, the latest innovations, emerging technologies and ideas shaping the future of sports media and entertainment. That focus will sit at the heart of the Conference Summit at the Speakers Stage, where leading industry voices will explore the most significant developments in sports media today. The 2026 programme will cover AI and live production, data, investment, betting and emerging digital business models.

The agenda is practical as well as ambitious. A series of expert masterclasses includes Defining Your Corporate AI Strategy; The Economics of Sport: Digital, Data and Investment Reshaping Sports Media; Inside Live Sports Betting: The Technology, Data and Fan Experience; and The Future of Production: Which Way to Go? The programme will also feature exclusive customer case studies showcasing real-world applications and new approaches to sports content. Sessions from YouTube, Spiideo, WURL, Pixotope, Dolby OptiView, XR Sports Alliance and others will offer insight into how technology is transforming the way sports are produced, distributed and experienced.

The stage is already well stocked. Among the first major names confirmed are Jeff Roth, founding partner, Bruin Capital; Javier Tebas, president, LaLiga; Jonny Keogh, head of UK sports, YouTube; Danny Townsend, ceo, SURJ Sports Investment; Peter Bellamy, chief revenue officer, Deltatre; and Prashant Khanna, head, rights, innovation and Cricinfo business, JioStar. Further high-profile speakers are to be announced.

The boldest move is new. As the worlds of sports, media and brands continue to converge, 2026 will see the launch of the CMO Brand Programme, in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, a founding member of XR Sports Alliance. Taking place on Monday 19 October, the exclusive experience will bring leading international brands and senior marketing decision-makers into the SPORTEL community. It connects chief marketing officers of companies heavily invested in sports partnerships with key players from across the global sports industry. Combining high-level discussions, curated networking and premium hospitality, it will focus on the evolving role of sports in brand strategy, sponsorship, marketing and innovation. The message is plain: the brand budget is now a seat at the sports media table.

Marine Picoulet, executive director, SPORTEL Monaco, said: “What makes SPORTEL Monaco unique is its ability to bring the right people together, at the right time, in the right place. For three days, the marketplace, conferences and networking opportunities create a truly international environment where business happens, ideas are exchanged and new connections are made. As sports media continues to evolve at an incredible pace, SPORTEL provides a unique perspective on where the industry is heading and brings together the people shaping what comes next. We are very much looking forward to welcoming the international sports media community back to Monaco and to creating another memorable edition together.”

Monaco remains the heart of the calendar, but the brand is going travelling. SPORTEL’s global expansion continues with the launch of SPORTEL Canada, taking place for the first time in Toronto on 23 to 24 March 2027. With its strong sports culture and dynamic media and technology ecosystem, Canada is a natural new destination for the SPORTEL community. The event strengthens SPORTEL’s presence in the North American market and creates new connections across Canadian, US and international sports media, technology and business communities.

Agnès Marsan, executive director, SPORTEL International, said: “When we started exploring the Canadian market, we quickly realised how much was happening there. The FIFA World Cup certainly created momentum, but Canada has a strong and growing sports business ecosystem in its own right. We already have relationships with a number of Canadian companies, but there is still a much broader community we want to connect with, including companies that do not yet attend SPORTEL America or SPORTEL Monaco. Bringing SPORTEL to Toronto is therefore a natural next step in strengthening our presence in North America and creating new opportunities for the Canadian sports industry to connect with the international market.”

A sold-out floor, a new brand programme and a new continent. For the sports media business, the next big deal may well be signed in Monaco.
