Nick Jr. named Channel of the Year
MUMBAI: Nick Jr. was named channel of the year at the British Academy Children‘s Awards.
The channel beat CBBC, CBeebies and Cyw for the prestigious award.
In the animation category, Lost and Found took top honours, while Rhestr Nadolig Wil (Wil‘s Christmas List) scored the drama win. Best factual programme for children was Serious Ocean.
The Penguins of Madagascar won in the international category. Off By Heart won the award for learning (primary), and Troubled Minds won for learning (secondary).
In the way of preschool programming, Ben and Holly‘s Little Kingdom took the win on the animation side, while Bookaboo scored the nod for live action. See Something, Say Something was adjudged the best short form programme.
In the interactive category, Big and Small Online took the win over 1066, The Legula Adventure and Routes. Also scoring a nod was LittleBigPlanet in the video game category.
Children between the ages of 7 and 14 voted for their favourite film, TV show, video game and website with the BAFTA kids‘ vote.
Hannah Montana The Movie won in the feature film category, while the TV show Hannah Montana also notched a win.

Comedian Kiku Sharda joins the fun with a special rap track as the mischievous icon returns to Indian TV.
MUMBAI: Shin chan is back and this time, he’s bringing the whole house of masti with him! Sony YAY!, India’s leading kids’ entertainment channel, has unveiled ‘House of Masti’, a specially curated programming block to mark 20 years of the iconic animated series Shin chan on Indian television. The campaign transforms the beloved character’s mischievous world into a fresh, high-energy viewing experience. It features new episodes, fan-favourite moments, and themed programming stunts, all designed to stand out from regular broadcasts.
Adding extra sparkle to the celebration, popular comedian Kiku Sharda has joined the campaign. He anchors the integration with a lively rap track titled ‘Shin chan ka YAY! Dhamaal’, infusing contemporary music and humour into the beloved series.

Starting 27 April, viewers can enjoy the World Television Premiere of Shin chan along with new episodes and an exciting lineup of blockbuster movies on Sony YAY!.
