Meher Bajwa joins NDTV as editor of Good Times
The lifestyle media veteran, with more than 15 years across travel, luxury and digital publishing, will lead the brand’s next phase of editorial growth and multiplatform expansion
NEW DELHI: Good Times has a new captain, and she arrives with a bulging kitbag. NDTV has appointed Meher Bajwa as editor of NDTV Good Times, to lead its next phase of editorial growth, original content creation and multiplatform expansion. Bajwa brings more than 15 years of experience building influential media brands across lifestyle, travel, luxury and digital publishing. The brief is bold: reimagine an iconic name for a new generation.
The appointment reinforces NDTV’s commitment to building one of India’s most distinctive lifestyle and entertainment brands across television, digital, social and emerging platforms. Bajwa brings a rare combination of editorial vision, digital expertise and brand-building acumen. Throughout her career she has led content transformations, launched high-impact editorial properties, grown audiences at scale and helped build commercially successful media businesses.
The CV reads like a tour of modern media. Most recently, Bajwa was editor-in-chief of Travel + Leisure India & South Asia, where she drove the brand’s editorial evolution, expanded its digital footprint and developed a portfolio of influential content and experiential properties. Before that she held senior leadership roles at Hubert Burda Media, including deputy regional director, digital operations, Asia, overseeing markets across India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. She played a key role in scaling digital audiences, strengthening content capabilities and driving growth across brands such as Lifestyle Asia, Augustman and Travel + Leisure.
Scale is the thread running through it. Bajwa also served as newsroom director at Microsoft News, leading editorial operations across 16 countries and managing a newsroom of more than 140 editors and journalists. Earlier in her career she held editorial positions at Maxim and Cosmopolitan, where she helped shape content strategy and launch successful editorial initiatives. Few editors can claim to have run a glossy, a global newsroom and a regional digital operation. Fewer still have done so with audience growth as the yardstick.
Rahul Kanwal, chief executive officer and editor-in-chief of NDTV, said: “Good Times has long been an iconic name in lifestyle media, with strong equity and a loyal audience. As media consumption continues to evolve, we see tremendous opportunity to reimagine the brand for a new generation. Meher combines strong editorial instincts with a deep understanding of digital audiences and content-led brand building. Her experience across global markets and her track record of creating impactful content ecosystems make her the ideal leader for the next chapter of Good Times. We are delighted to welcome her to NDTV.”
Commenting on her appointment, Bajwa said: “Good Times has a remarkable legacy and an exciting future ahead. Lifestyle content today is increasingly about culture, experiences, aspirations and the stories that shape modern living. Audiences want content that is authentic, relevant and engaging across platforms. I look forward to building on Good Times’ strengths, creating distinctive new content franchises and deepening its connection with audiences in meaningful ways.”
The mandate is clear. In her new role, Bajwa will lead the editorial vision and content strategy for Good Times, with a focus on developing original intellectual properties, expanding digital and social engagement, and creating fresh storytelling formats across lifestyle, travel, food, fashion, culture and contemporary living. The timing is shrewd: audiences now want content that is authentic and relevant on every screen, and a brand with strong equity and a loyal following is well placed to deliver it.
The appointment also reflects NDTV’s broader ambition to build a vibrant portfolio of content brands that go beyond traditional formats, connect with evolving consumer aspirations and create new opportunities for audience engagement and brand collaboration. With a renewed editorial direction and a greater emphasis on multiplatform storytelling, NDTV Good Times aims to strengthen its position as a distinctive voice in India’s evolving lifestyle and entertainment landscape. In Bajwa, it has an editor with the range to match that ambition.
