MUMBAI: Hyderabad certainly put its best foot forward on Sunday, as Network18’s Mana Run Hyderabad – 2nd Edition turned Gachibowli Stadium into a sea of runners, walkers and fitness enthusiasts. Held on 16 August, the event drew 5,000-plus participants, bringing together families, children, seasoned runners and specially-abled participants.

Presented by News18 Telugu, the run was positioned around fitness, community participation and inclusivity, while aligning with the Government of India’s Fit India Movement. Beyond the race itself, the event carried a wider message encouraging people to make physical activity part of everyday life and promoting a healthier, drug-free India.

The event offered something for almost every pace and age group. Participants could choose from 1K and 2K Kids Runs, a 2K Costumed Run, a 3K Walkathon, 5K and 10K Fun Runs, and competitive 5K and 10K Timed Runs.

That mix helped turn the event from a conventional race into a broader community outing, with children taking their first steps into organised running alongside experienced fitness enthusiasts and competitive runners.

Inclusivity was another defining feature of the Hyderabad edition, with specially-abled participants joining the thousands taking part. Their presence added a significant dimension to an event designed to bring people from different age groups and backgrounds onto the same track.

The event also drew participation from the city’s police leadership. V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, attended as Chief Guest, while T. Annapurna, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin), Cyberabad, was the Guest of Honour.

The run was backed by partners spanning healthcare, nutrition, sports, banking, hydration, FMCG and infrastructure. Calcimax 500 came on board as the Bone & Joint Health Partner, while Gold Winner was a Powered By partner and Reliance Industries a Co-Powered By partner.

The partner line-up also included Milky Mist as Protein Partner, Fast&Up as Energy Partner, US Cranberries as Nutrition Partner and Dynapar QPS Plus as Pain Relief Partner. Decathlon joined as Sports Partner, with Axis Bank as Banking Partner and Medicover Hospitals as Health Partner.

Campa Sure supported the event as Hydration Partner, while Nagarjuna Cements and Orient Bell Tiles came on board as Special Partners.

With its combination of competitive races, family-friendly categories and inclusive participation, Mana Run Hyderabad’s second edition turned the finish line into something of a starting point too — encouraging more people to make fitness a regular part of their lives.
