ET NOW & ET NOW Swadesh to host special ‘Retirement Mahakumbh’ on August 29
Four-hour marathon will decode pensions, investments, insurance and retirement planning
MUMBAI: Retirement planning is getting its own mahakumbh. ET NOW and ET NOW Swadesh will host a special ‘Retirement Mahakumbh’ on Saturday, August 29, bringing experts from the financial and retirement ecosystem together to help viewers navigate long-term financial planning.
The special programming will run from 11 am to 3:30 pm across both channels and will focus on the theme “Retire Rich, Retire Confident, Retire Stress-Free”.
The initiative is aimed at viewers across age groups and income levels, with sessions designed to simplify some of the key decisions involved in preparing financially for retirement.
The programming will cover NPS, pension planning, retirement health insurance, building a retirement corpus, portfolio construction and FIRE, or Financial Independence, Retire Early. It will also address common misconceptions around retirement products and explore strategies for building long-term financial security.
The programme will conclude with an interactive ‘Ask the Experts’ segment, where viewers can raise questions around retirement, investments and taxation.
The special comes against the backdrop of India’s relatively limited pension coverage, particularly among workers in the informal economy. Irregular incomes, informal employment and limited awareness of retirement products continue to make long-term financial planning difficult for a large section of the workforce.
The expert line-up brings together senior representatives from pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, wealth management firms and financial research organisations.
Among those participating are PFRDA chairperson Sivasubramanian Ramann; LIC CEO and MD R. Doraiswamy; CAMS managing director Anuj Kumar; Protean eGov Technologies MD and CEO Ajay Rajan; Axis Pension Fund MD and CEO Sumit Shukla; Anand Rathi Wealth joint CEO Feroze Azeez; Value Research founder and chief executive Dhirendra Kumar; HSBC Mutual Fund CEO Kailash Kulkarni; and Pramerica Life Insurance MD and CEO Pankaj Gupta.
The line-up also includes Dezerv co-founder Sandeep Jethwani, LIC Mutual Fund MD R.K. Jha, InCred Premier country head Rishi Dhaddha, financial influencer Anant Ladha, former LIC executive director Ashvin Ghai, ICICI Pension Fund CIO K. Sivakumar, Tata Pension Fund CEO Kurian Jose and SBI Pension Funds MD and CEO Pranay Ranjan Dwivedi.
Other speakers include Narayana Health Insurance whole-time director and CEO Sheela Ananth, ICICI Lombard chief of health underwriting, claims and customer service Girish Sehgal, Hemant Rustogi, independent financial planner Gajendra Kothari and Deloitte India partner Alok Agarwal, among others.
With retirement increasingly becoming a longer-term financial planning challenge rather than a decision reserved for the final years of one’s career, ET NOW and ET NOW Swadesh are positioning the four-and-a-half-hour special as a practical guide to planning for life after the paycheque stops.
