BigFlix partners with Sony Pictures to offer The Social Network on rent

MUMBAI: Bigflix.com, the online movie rental service from Reliance ADAG Group, has partnered with Sony Pictures for the movie The Social Network.

With the deal in place, subscribers of BigFlix.com can rent the movie on the same day of launch of the DVD, on 25 January.
 
The Social Network, the blockbuster hit of the year 2010, is based on the true story of social networking site Facebook and its creator Mark Zuckerberg.

Bigflix.com business head Pankaj Chandra said, “We are delighted to partner with Sony Pictures and offer 2010’s most critically acclaimed film to our subscribers on the same day of its home DVD launch. The movie rental industry is on an all time high and will grow significantly in a couple of years. Partnerships like these will take the industry ahead and we are happy that Sony Pictures decided to be the first one to take this step with us.”

Bigflix has also started social activities on its Facebook fan page to promote the association. These activities via BigFlix’s social media initiative will run until 26 January.
