Collective Studios’ Historyverse releases ‘Inquilab Zindabad’, a tribute to Bhagat Singh

Some revolutionaries never go out of fashion. Collective Studios’ Historyverse has unveiled ‘Inquilab Zindabad’, a new song that pays homage to the life of Bhagat Singh, and it arrives with a clear purpose: to make a story that is nearly a century old feel urgent again.

The track traces Bhagat Singh’s journey, from the ideas and experiences that shaped his path to his ultimate sacrifice. That arc is precisely why his story continues to resonate across generations. Few figures in Indian history remain so present in the public imagination, and fewer still are revisited through music that speaks to a new audience.

The creative team is worth noting. The song is penned and performed by EPR Iyer and produced by GJ Storm, with music by Trilok and visuals by Trilok Collective. Presented by Trilok and Collective Studios, ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ offers a contemporary musical interpretation of Bhagat Singh’s story while keeping his ideas and legacy firmly at its core. The approach is modern in sound, but faithful in substance.

The song is also part of a larger ambition. An upcoming series on Bhagat Singh, titled ‘Mera Bhagat’, is currently in development at Collective Studios’ Historyverse. It is being produced by Vijay Subramaniam and Manish Hathiramani. The series seeks to look beyond the familiar iconography surrounding Bhagat Singh and explore the person, the ideas and the experiences that shaped his journey.

That distinction matters. Iconography is easy to reproduce, but understanding is harder to build. By pairing a song with a series, Historyverse signals that it wants to move from the poster to the person, and from slogan to substance.
