Zee’s next big movie catch ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’
MUMBAI: What next after the big one for the month Munnabhai MBBS? If that is the question that has been hounding Zee loyalists, then the answer is Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.
Subhash Chandra’s flagship channel has bagged the telecast rights for the second quarter’s box-office hit starring Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra.
It is no surprise that the telecast rights were bagged by Zee, as the group also has the film’s oversea exhibition and DVD rights. The movie is likely to be premiered on the channel later this year.
In addition to that, Zee has also managed to bag the telecast rights for Mani Ratnam’s critically acclaimed Yuva.
Starring Ajay Devgan, Abhishekh Bachchan, Vivek Oberoi, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor and Esha Deol, the movie is based on political unrest amongst the student fraternity in Kolkotta.
In addition to the big titles, Zee Network has also bagged titles including Line Of Control, Tarzaan-The Wonder Car, and Tehzeeb.
One movie catch that came as a bit of a surprise though, is the Mandira Bedi starrerShaadi Ka Ladoo, which has been snagged by Zee’s Hindi movie arm Zee Cinema for its Premiere band. For the uninitiated, Bedi has been Sony’s movie and entertainment channel MAX’s mascot since the Cricket World Cup 2003.
The movie, directed by Bedi’s husband Raj Kaushal, stars Sanjay Suri, Ashish Chaudhary and Samita Bhangargi. The movie will premiere on Saturday 16 October at 8:30 pm.
When asked for further details about the film acquisitions, a Zee spokesperson withheld comment.
