World Pickleball League nets Eurosport India as season two broadcast partner
MUMBAI: The World Pickleball League has scored a major broadcast win, signing Warner Bros. Discovery-owned Eurosport India as the official television partner for its second season, taking the fast-growing sport to more than 70 million Indian homes.
Riding the momentum of a buzzy debut in 2025, the franchise-based league returns bigger and louder. Season two expands to seven teams with the addition of a Jaipur franchise and stretches to 120 matches, up from 90 last year. Every game will be aired live on Eurosport India.
The action begins on 27 January, with 13 days of what the league calls sportainment, elite pickleball fused with live entertainment, aimed squarely at prime-time audiences. Eurosport, Warner Bros. Discovery’s flagship multi-sport brand, reaches 246 million subscribers across 75 countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Gaurav Natekar, founder and ceo of World Pickleball League, said the tie-up marked a decisive step in the league’s growth. “Partnering with Eurosport India is a natural progression. It opens the door to millions of new viewers as we scale internationally. Season two underlines how quickly WPBL has evolved into a global spectacle, with players from over 25 countries registering for the draft and athletes from 18 nations set to feature this season.”
The league blends competitive play with celebrity franchise ownership and high-octane fan engagement, a mix designed to turn pickleball into appointment viewing. The expanded format signals WPBL’s intent to deepen audience loyalty while rapidly widening its footprint.
As pickleball gathers pace across India, the Eurosport partnership pushes the sport further into the mainstream. The ambition is clear: build a league that lives beyond the court, fusing competition, entertainment and community. With more matches, broader reach and louder buzz, WPBL is no longer warming up. It is sprinting into India’s sporting conversation.
