The Game Factory signs intl licensing agreement with Cartoon Network
MUMBAI: The Game Factory has signed a international publishing agreement with Cartoon Network Enterprises to develop, launch and market an exciting new arcade racing videogame for Nintendo DS and Sony PlayStation 2 based on the Cartoon Network original animated series The Powerpuff Girls, Cow & Chicken, Courage, the Cowardly Dog, I Am Weasel, Johnny Bravo and Dexter’s Laboratory.
The arcade-style videogame allows players to pit their favorite Cartoon Network characters against each other or simply race against friends. The game will be targeted for wide release across Europe and the US for the holiday season 2006.
“With its No 1 and No 2 ranking among television networks across more than 160 countries around the world, Cartoon Network is a key brand in kid’s lives — much more than simply their favorite television channel. This new partnership with The Game Factory brings multiple opportunities for Cartoon Network fans to race and play with some of their best loved characters in a video game,” said Cartoon Network Enterprises senior vice president John Friend.
“The Game Factory is committed to creating high quality gaming experiences for children based on the brands that they and their parents know and love. We’re so pleased that through this partnership we’ll be able to create new opportunities for children to interact and engage in play with their favorite Cartoon Network characters,” said The Game Factory president Henrik Mathiasen.
All six television series are currently airing on Cartoon Network. Furthermore, the videogame will be supported by on-air and off-channel promotions, interactive web sites and a broad range of licensing products worldwide.
