Tandberg’s GoldPocket wins TV technology of the year award
MUMBAI: GoldPocket Interactive, a Tandberg Television company, received the Television Technology of the Year Award at the Digital Entertainment and Media Excellence Awards, held in Los Angeles.
GoldPocket was honoured for its EventMatrix interactive television (ITV) system, the market-leading solution for the creation, management, and delivery of cross-platform ITV programming.
“We are extremely honoured that our technology has been recognized as a force for innovation in the digital media industry,” said GoldPocket Interactive president Scott Newnam. “Consumers are increasingly demanding interactivity, personalization, and community features from their media. Our technology enables media companies to provide this new entertainment experience across all distribution platforms.”
It shall be recalled that the UK-based Tandberg Television acquired the US based GoldPocket Interactive, Inc. (GPI) for a total consideration of $78.5 million in October this year. GPI provides open-standards interactive television technology, solutions and systems.
To date, GoldPocket’s EventMatrix has powered more than 20,000 hours of ITV programming for many of the world’s largest media and distribution companies. Television networks that have created and delivered their interactive media on the system include CBS, FOX, NBC, GSN, HSN, The WB, A&E, The History Channel, Showtime, Spike TV, AMC, TBS, CNN, Bravo, Fuse, and Lifetime, states an official release.
