Star Movies wins telecast rights to ‘Million Dollar Baby’
MUMBAI: Star Movies has acquired exclusive telecast rights to Million Dollar Baby, the triumphant winner of four major Oscar including Best Picture.
Million Dollar Baby took home awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor.
The channel has also clinched the telecast rights of Oscar winners Sideways and Finding Neverland. While Sideways won an Oscar for Adapted Screenplay, Finding Neverland collected the top honour for Original Score.
“This incomparable line-up of Oscars winners positively reaffirms Star Movies’ commitment to bringing the best of Hollywood to viewers across Asia,” says STAR senior VP, Marketing & PR Ajay Vidyasagar. “Along with the recent renewal of the Oscars ceremony telecast rights, the broadcast of the four Oscar-winning movies on Star Movies will further enrich television entertainment for viewers in the region.”
In addition, the channel has also got the rights to air Shrek 2, the highest grossing movie of 2004 with whopping $900 million collections worldwide in 2004, says an official release.

Zee5 launches five free FAST channels on Samsung TV Plus India
New genre-led channels bring comedy, drama, horror, classics and South films to Smart TVs.
MUMBAI: Zee5 just turned Samsung Smart TVs into a free entertainment buffet because when premium content costs nothing, even the remote control starts smiling. Zee5 has launched five curated free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels on Samsung TV Plus India, making high-quality, genre-specific entertainment available subscription-free to millions of Samsung Smart TV owners across the country.

ZEE South Flix – High-energy South Indian films dubbed in Hindi
All content is drawn from Zee5’s extensive library and programmed in a lean-back, always-on format ideal for large-screen viewing. This launch strengthens Zee5’s Connected TV strategy at a time when 64 per cent of its premium content watch time already comes from connected devices.

The channels are available directly through the pre-installed Samsung TV Plus app with no login or subscription required.
