Sports TV event in Monaco receives good response from exhibitors

MUMBAI: The 16th edition of the sports broadcasting market Sportel Monaco will be held friom 24-27 October 2005. Sportel has announced that more than 80 per cent of the exhibitors’ stands have been sold.

Exhibitors at the event will include A1 Grand Prix, BBC Worldwide, Dentsu, ESPN Intl, HBO, World wrestling Entertainment and Fox Sports. On the buying side, to date, acquisitions executives have registered from 37 countries, including: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, UK and the US.

The event will be marked by the advent of new technologies and in particular the reception of TV sports programmes on mobile receivers.

Telecom operators and manufacturers have been invited to present the new systems which make it possible to receive TV sequences on mobile handsets (UMTS, TNT, DVB-H, DMB, WiFi, WiMax).
