Sonu Nigam paints Mumbai in seven shades of song
MUMBAI: Mumbai sang in seven shades of love on Sunday night. Padma Shri Sonu Nigam kicked off his Satrangi Re India Tour with a spellbinding debut performance that had 13,000 fans swaying, singing, and soaking in nostalgia at every note.
Conceptualised and produced by NR Talent & Event Management and BookMyShow, the Mumbai concert marked the first stop of the multi-city musical journey, a vibrant tribute to the emotions and melodies that have defined Nigam’s four-decade-long career.
From the electrifying Bijuria to the soulful Saathiya and the timeless Satrangi Re, the legendary singer took the audience on a rollercoaster of rhythm and reminiscence. The stage came alive in a kaleidoscope of light and colour, mirroring the seven hues of love that inspired the concert’s theme.
“I’m truly grateful for all this love,” Nigam told his cheering fans, before inviting a few lucky ones on stage to join him in the iconic Bijuria hookstep, a moment that lit up the arena.
The night drew a star-studded crowd, with Munawar Faruqui, Nakuul Mehta, Salim Merchant, Tanmay Bhatt, Sahiba Bali and Lauren Gottlieb spotted grooving to the maestro’s hits.
BookMyShow COO – live entertainment & venues Anil Makhija called the evening “a powerful reminder of music’s ability to connect.” NR Talent co-founders Rabbani Mustafa Khan and Namrata Gupta Khan described the show as a “dream debut” after a year of meticulous planning.
With Mumbai now drenched in melody, the Satrangi Re caravan moves on to Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune and Delhi-NCR in the coming months, promising to colour India’s concert scene with every shade of Sonu Nigam’s timeless magic.
