NDTV ties up with Idea for live news on mobiles

MUMBAI: Telecom major Idea and Dr Prannoy Roy’s NDTV have teamed up in launching the first of its kind interactive service for mobile subscribers.

This service lets Idea subscribers send feedback in their own voices as well as listen to the latest news headlines by dialing 6388 on their mobile phone and say “Feedback” or “News”. An official release informs that Idea is the first to launch this service in India in collaboration with NDTV.
 
 
Commenting on this launch Idea Cellular CEO Vikram Mehmi said, “The idea behind the launch of such a special service is to empower our customers by allowing them access to voice based interactivity with NDTV, including news and feedback, as and when they want. Idea subscribers will surely benefit from the unique expertise of NDTV as India’s leading news broadcaster.”
 
 

NDTV director KVL Narayan Rao said, “We are very happy to provide 6388 on voice service through Idea’s interactive voice response platform as we believe this will be a critical step towards mobile-driven interactivity between NDTV and its audience.
