NBC set to launch online TV series

MUMBAI: NBC.com will launch an online interactive music competition StarTomorrow this summer. The programme allows users to vote for the next superstar band or singing group.

The winners will be rewarded with a recording deal with former Sony Music Entertainment chairman-CEO Tommy Mottola.

“StarTomorrow is an important project for us. This is the first time NBC will be distributing a network-quality program exclusively online. We want to give consumers a new viewing experience and digital content enables us to give more scheduling and programming latitude to them, truly allowing viewers to create their own show,” reports quote NBC Universal Cable Entertainment president digital content and cross-network strategy Jeff Gaspin as saying.
