Kwality plans multimedia blitz for sundae variants launch

BANGALORE: Ice-cream major Kwality Wall’s, has announced it is extending its successful Take Home Pack offering – SUNDAE to a new platform of Exotic SUNDAE that will be launched with two new variants Kesar Magic and Mocha Almond, hitting the market in the next one week.

The launch of the two new sundae variants will be supported by a massive multimedia advertising campaign, a company release says.

A new television advertisement that has been readied will highlight the significance of ‘dessert time’, as the time when a family gets together, the release says.

“The idea behind launching Sundaes was to give consumers at home, a product experience that was previously available only in parlours. Indians have a wide repertoire when it comes to desserts from mixing gulab jamum with ice cream to the desserts offered in a coffee parlour. We think we have taken the first step towards offering these diverse product experiences to consumers in home,” JH Mehta, executive director, Ice Cream Division, Hindustan Lever Ltd, has been quoted in the release as saying.

Kwality Wall’s Sundaes were launched in 2001 in India in Chocolate, Strawberry and Mango flavors. These was followed by the launch of Black Currant Sundae early this year.
